Welcome to the Indiana Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts

Soil health is not something the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (IASWCD) takes lightly.

Simply, we believe maintaining soil health . . . whether it's our vast acres of farmland across Indiana, or the soil in the yards, greenways and parks of our cities, towns and suburbs . . . it is essential to protect our natural resources. This is the direct link to water quality!

That is why we work with Indiana's 92 county Soil and Water Conservation Districts to reach Hoosiers - helping all of us understand the impact our actions have on our natural resources. The results of good soil and water stewardship are critical not only for today, but for the generations to come, so we can provide food and fiber for the world's population.

The IASWCD and our local SWCDs share a single mission: to coordinate assistance from available sources — public and private, local, state and federal — in an effort to develop locally driven solutions to natural resource concerns.

Indiana's Soil and Water Conservation Districts are using the power of conservation to address these critical issues. When it comes to protecting our soils, Indiana's Soil and Water Conservation Districts have it covered. Learn More>>
