The 66th Soil and Water Conservation Districts Annual Conference will be held Monday, January 12 through Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Hyatt Hotel Indianapolis, downtown.

Indiana’s 92 local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs), subdivisions of state government, are governed by a board of five supervisors.  The SWCDs develop and implement conservation programs based on a set of local resource priorities, and channel resources from all levels of government and organizations into action at the local level.  Supervisors, along with administrative, educational and technical staff attend this conference every year to learn about innovative technologies, current research, educational projects, and management issues relating to soil and water conservation.  Federal and state agency staff and other conservation related organizations participate and network as well.
