Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (IASWCD)

The IASWCD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization representing 92 Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  Our mission is to represent Soil and Water Conservation Districts as one voice, and to assist the leadership of local SWCDs through coordination and education for the wise use and management of our natural resources.

IASWCD Annual Conference and Indiana SWCDs

Indiana’s 92 local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs), subdivisions of state government, are governed by a board of five supervisors. The SWCDs develop and implement conservation programs based on a set of local resource priorities, and channel resources from all levels of government and organizations into action at the local level. 

Supervisors, along with administrative, educational and technical staff attend this conference every year to learn about innovative technologies, current research, educational projects, and management issues relating to soil and water conservation. Federal and state agency staff and other conservation related organizations participate and network as well.
