This is an excellent leadership development opportunity for individuals involved in agriculture or rural development careers. Auxiliary Silent Auction. Don’t forget that the IASWCD Auxiliary will hold their silent auction during conference on Monday and Tuesday. The auction raises funds for conservation education. You are encouraged to donate to the auction. They can be brought to Marriott Ballroom 6 on Monday, January 14, prior to the 10:30 a.m. silent auction start. If you have questions, contact Carol Droege at 812.985.5574.
QuickBooks Training at Conference. For those attending the QuickBooks for SWCDs training on Wednesday, Jan. 16, be sure to bring a laptop with whatever version of QB you have installed. If you want to make a copy of your actual QB file and work from that you can, otherwise you will be working from a company example file.
Office Closed During Conference. The IASWCD office will be closed Monday through Wednesday, January 14-16, during the Annual Conference. Morgan County SWCD has New Location. The Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District Office will be moving from their current location in the USDA Service Center to the County Administration Building. The move date is tomorrow or Friday. Their address will be 180 S. Main Street, Suite 002, Martinsville, IN, 46151. Their new phone number will be 765-349-2060. We’ll provide new email addresses as soon as we have them.
New Districts on the Web. Congratulations to these Districts who now have Web sites! Take a few minutes and visit them.
District Exchange. The Knox County SWCD is seeking candidates for its Natural Resource Technician position. Click here for the complete job description with details on duties and qualifications. Envirothon Deadline Approaching. The deadline to register teams for the regional 2008 Indiana Envirothon Competition is Thursday, January 31, 2008. The regional competition registration fee is $50 per team (includes lunch). The state competition registration fee is $50 per team (to be paid by April 13th). Make check payable to: INDIANA ENVIROTHON and send the registration form and fee to: Indiana Envirothon, Attention: Ann Ice, 229 S Second Avenue, Suite 3, Princeton, IN 47670-3534.
